GENERAL SUMMARY

GENERAL SUMMARY:We are looking for an overall engineering lead for an Automotive chipset targeting IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment), ADAS and Autonomous driving. An Automotive chipset comprises multiple chips that together perform the functions desired (such as Application Processor, PMICs, Connectivity chips) and associated Software/Firmware. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The individual will start by leading multiple Automotive Chipsets from CS, Qualification through Safe Launch into high volume manufacturing. • Drive DPPM reduction methodology without reducing quality, test coverage or increasing test time.• Work with multiple teams to root cause post silicon issues either reported by customer or found in internal testing: leads complex analyses, reviews analyses completed by others to identify where an issue has occurred, makes recommendations for how to address issues, and identifies patterns and implications for work.• Drive RMA and FA analysis with multiple teams• Ensures continuous improvement processes are established and in place across the organization to achieve DPPM and cost reduction goals Future responsibilities for the candidate will include planning and execution of a future chipset through all phases from concept to commercialization across all engineering teams, including meeting all engineering KPIs such as timeliness, stability, reliability, cost, performance, power, etc. • Works closely with chipset Program Manager, chipset Product Manager, and leads from various engineering teams to ensure delivery of hardware, software, test, documentation, and tools to enable on-time launch of customer devices in the market.• Ultimately responsible for driving resolution of all engineering issues on the chipset whether within a specific subsystem, or across subsystems, functions, and chipset components. • Final point of escalation for customer engineering issues. • Responsible for clearly communicating engineering status of the project to executives. • Works in a highly matrixed environment. • This role frequently requires working with others to fulfill job responsibilities without direct authority.

Preferred Skills:

+ Minimum of 5 years of Industry experience, 10 years preferred

+ Solid understanding of automotive ecosystem, specifications, quality and product requirements

+ Knowledge of vehicle networks, communication protocol and diagnostics

+ Hands on experience with circuit diagrams, IC components, sensors, displays, drivers, encoders, transceivers

+ Demonstrated skills in managing complex design projects in partnership with both internal and external groups

+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

+ 5+ years of technical leadership experience in an area of product development.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

+ Semiconductor development and/or SoC Architecture definition

+ Experience with bringing products from concept through development and into production. Focus on simultaneously meeting customer requirements and internal KPI (Key Performance Indicators), cost and performance requirements

+ Knowledge of Electrical Test, characterization, validation and System Level Test as well as methods to minimize DPPM and provide high quality products.

+ Experience leading diverse teams with a variety of expertise via influence management

+ Knowledge of packaging, modules and / or System in Packages (SiP).

+ Good understanding of mechanical, thermal and electrical challenges with integration of advanced semiconductors at a system level.

+ Understanding and willingness to learn the Automotive Ecosystem. Ability to work with a variety of suppliers, industry experts and customer facing requirements for future product development. Will need to develop appreciation of Automotive grade reliability, temperature, operating environments and ecosystem

+ Module experience in design, integration in vehicle and specifications around power, thermal, mechanical and electrical constraints and motion control

+ Good understanding of semiconductor product flow, yield optimization and cost reduction

Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
