GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm provides complete chipset solution that includes CPU, Modem, Application Processor, Multi-media engines, Interconnect and more. Power is a key area that drives the value of our chips. As fabrication technology node shrinks, and performance requirement become higher, it is crucial to provide power optimized solutions, which is the responsibility of the group that you will be working in.Qualcomm Video Systems group provides video and vision IP solutions for all of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors including mobile, automotive and VR/AR. The team’s scope includes algorithm and architecture design for video analytics, computer vision and machine learning with power and performance optimization.

The selected candidate, along with his/her colleagues and other team members, will have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:• Research and develop computer vision algorithms for mobile, automotive and AR/VR applications with performance and power efficiency• Define systems architecture for computer vision solutions including data flow, task partition, interface and systems interoperation.• Design and implement C/C++ simulator for computer vision functions. The simulator will be used for algorithms development, verification, and quality evaluation.• Work on DSP or GPU optimization of computer vision algorithms• Define methodology for performance and power analysis and develop innovative technologies to reduce memory bandwidth, processing latency, power consumption.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.• 2+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experiencePREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:• Experience with computer vision and machine learning• Proficiency in C/C++• Embedded system architecture including platform architecture, software stack, security and virtualization.• Strong analytical and mathematical skills to develop new computer vision algorithms• Work experience with VR/AR/ADAS systems design• DSP/Neon/GPU optimization and multi-thread programming• Experience in motion analysis, object detection/tracking and pattern recognition

Work Experiences:

5+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Work Experiences:

1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above). ,3+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports). ,2+ years of applicable video HW and/or Systems experience. ,5+ years experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software. ,5+ years experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems.
