Position Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and corresponding documentation incompliance with applicable national standards.

·        Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.

·        Analyze contractual requirements and identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.

·        Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, operations, and other appropriate staff.

·        Participate in Lean Manufacturing and other programs focusing on continuous improvement of processes and methods.

·        Support and participate in quality related activities such as root cause investigation, corrective action implementation, preventive action projects, non-conformance review, and continuous improvement efforts.

·        Investigate major quality, customer, and supplier related problems and participate with operations and customers/suppliers to resolve issues.

·        Be the primary interface with customers for all quality related customer satisfaction issues.

·        Interface and communication with internal and external sources as required to accomplish assigned duties.

·        Work with internal resources to determine where statistical techniques are to be applied and to train personnel to properly utilize these techniques.

·        Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.

·        Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Responsible for the quality assurance operating budget.

·        Prepare reports on quality findings, interpret data, prepare charts, and make recommendations to management for maintaining and upgrading the focus on quality.

·        Responsible for the internal training required to maintain quality management systems compliance and awareness, including internal training for personnel in the operation and performance of new or modified equipment and processes.

·        Responsible to hire, discharge, demote, or promote quality department personnel.

·        Maintain knowledge of technical developments through general research and attendance of seminars and meetings.

·        Mentor and provide career guidance to subordinates to ensure the corporation maintains long term quality assurance excellence.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.

·        Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

·        Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

·        Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, which includes assessing customer needs and meeting quality standards.

·        Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo, including uses, interactions, danger signs production techniques, and disposal methods.

·        Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

·        Monitor/assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or the organization to make improvements or take corrective action.

·        Reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.

·        Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required: Two-year degree and/or certificate quality related, with 5 years of experience in quality and manufacturing environment.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; 5 years of experience in quality and manufacturing environment.

·        Quality Coordinator orientation and onboarding program.

·        General Management Standard Procedures training (AAA-XXX).

·        Quality Management System Procedures training (QMS-XXX).

·        Standard Procedure AAA-017 SMC Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.

·        VISUAL Enterprise Manufacturing Software.

·        ISO Internal Audit Training.

·        Safety & Health Manual, SAF-018 and all other related safety procedures.

·        SDS sheets relating to materials used in production processes.

·        Military Specifications as they relate to company products.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

·        Requires the use of safety shoes and safety glasses while on the production floor as well as hearing protection or other PPE as necessary.

·        Correctly adhere to all safety rules and policies.
