Department Summary
The Office of Internal Audit (OIA) independently assesses and enhances the University of Oregon (UO) risk management, control, and governance practices. It ensures that operations are conducted efficiently, effectively, and in line with policies and regulations, while identifying improvement opportunities and mitigating risks to support the University’s strategic goals. OIA is responsible for developing and implementing a flexible annual audit plan that prioritizes areas of highest risk and adapts to the UO’s risk landscape.
Position Summary
The Executive Assistant in the Office of Internal Audit provides diversified and confidential administrative support to the Chief Auditor and to the Office of Internal Audit. This position, under the guidance of the Chief Auditor, functions as the first point-of-contact for the department representing IA professionally and confidentially. The Executive Assistant supports the Office of Internal Audit through various administrative and reception duties, including but not limited to: scheduling meetings; maintaining the Chief Auditor’s and department’s calendars; preparing and editing office correspondence, documents, and reports; providing courteous and efficient receptionist duties; managing the department budget and processing financial transactions, and procuring of supplies and services as requested by the Chief Auditor.
The executive assistant uses a comprehensive knowledge of UO in support of the Office of Internal Audit, and maintains strict confidentiality as this position has access to sensitive and confidential issues. The executive assistant is expected to carry out duties with limited supervision and reports directly to the Chief Auditor.
Minimum Requirements
One year of experience performing administrative duties in support of agency projects or programs. Qualifying experience would involve data collection and analysis; project evaluation and/or analysis; interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations; or similar experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 years of experience providing administrative and/or executive level support within a large, complex organization.
• Experience coordinating and communicating confidential and sensitive matters.
• Experience in accounting, financial management and related activities
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience using higher education software programs such as Banner, Cognos or Drupal
• Experience providing executive level support
• Experience working in higher education
