This is the Invention Age – and this is where you come in. Qualcomm’s Multimedia Group is seeking candidates for its VLSI hardware design team in Santa Clara or San Diego, CA. The team develops image/video/computer vision processing IPs for integration into Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile processor. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:Micro architecture design and implementation of video decode/encode processing blocks using Verilog HDL.Use of various design tools (Linting, CDC, LEC, Fishtail, CLP etc.) to check and improve design qualityImplementation of Low power logic, targeting power, performance, area, and timing goals.Work on Linting, CDC, LEC and preferably Low Power check tools to implement design and check design qualityWork with Design Verification team on top-level or block level functional/gate level verification and code coverage, including power aware debug.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

+ Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors – Computer Engineering, Bachelors – Computer Science, Bachelors – Electrical Engineering

Work Experiences:

5+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Work Experiences:

3+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above). ,5+ years experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems. ,5+ years experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software. ,2+ years of applicable video HW and/or Systems experience. ,1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).
