GENERAL SUMMARY

Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software and/or hardware. Designs and coordinates complex engineering projects at the system level. Performs functional decomposition to drive requirements and specifications to both hardware and software. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Ensures system-level performance and power metrics are met. Drives triage of problems at the system level to determine root cause. The responsibilities of this role include:• Working under some supervision.• Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. May require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.• Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).• Completing tasks with multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.• Exercising creativity to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.• Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.• May be solicited during strategic planning period. The responsibilities of this role do not include:• Financial accountability (e.g., does not involve budgeting responsibility).Principal Duties & Responsibilities• Gathers, integrates, and interprets information from a variety of sources in order to troubleshoot issues; finds solutions and shares opinions about ways to address the issues.• Collaborates with individuals inside own team and with other teams to complete project work.• Collaborates with project team to accomplish project objectives.• Conducts analyses to identify where an issue has occurred and makes recommendations for how to address the issue with some/minimal supervision.• Anticipates and discusses issues with project team to maintain open communication.• Seeks out learning opportunities to increase own knowledge and skill.• Communicates with project lead via email and direct conversation to provide status and information about impending obstacles.• Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimal supervision.• Contributes to conversations during technical team discussion.• Collaborates with tech leads and engineers on a project in order to verify the accuracy of systems with minimal supervision.• Verifies proposed solutions to identified issues; accurately addresses and corrects the problem with minimal supervision.• Adapts to changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.• Implements and tests features with some direction/supervision from tech lead.

This is challenging position that requires the candidate to learn and internalize Qualcomm Camera solution and its concept very quickly.

Candidate will involve algorithm development on Image stabilization and multi-frame IQ improvement.

And candidate also has responsibility to support commercialization of new development feature on customer project. Responsibilities include the following:

– Research and development for mobile camera features and image/video quality improvement

– Prototype solutions on platforms for proof of concept and demonstration purposes

– Deployment of solutions that improve the mobile imaging experience.

– Design of camera systems that balance power, memory, silicon area to maximize imaging performance.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years industry experiences in the following areas:

Has a good knowledge on overall Image processing and computer vision.

Prior experience on algorithm development for image quality improvement like detail enhancement / noise reduction using multi-frame / image warping or distortion enhancement.

Requested career is over 3 year experiences (including master or Ph.D coarse work) – Junior / Senior level

· Expert on algorithm development for image processing or computer vision

· Camera image processing : Filter design for detail enhancement or noise reduction / image warping / Distortion enhancement

· Color science, sensor technology and Optics

· Familiar with embedded operating system, software and debugging skills

· Familiar with camera solution on Android or more phone/pad operating systems such as Windows

· Self-starter with motivation and initiative

· Flexibility to learn and work on new multimedia area

Preferred Qualifications

· Over Master Degree (PHD Degree preferred)

· Strong C/C++/Perl Script development and debugging skills on mobile systems

· Authoring or debugging tools for multimedia applications (Matlab/Python etc)

· Software verification and validation for approvals testing and inter-operability testing

· Good communication & interpersonal skills for customer-facing role

· Good English ability to communicate with US team and other global region teams
