GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm Camera Software Team is seeking an experienced engineer to characterize, analyze and optimize the processing performance of the camera software stack. In this highly visible role, the candidate will be working in a dynamic environment, interfacing across multiple disciplines including system, power, software, and hardware engineers to develop innovative architectures that meet the requirements of Qualcomm growing product portfolio. Candidates will be able to gain exposure to the full product life cycle from pre-silicon to the commercialization of Qualcomm chipsets.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a performance and architecture engineer, candidates will own or participate in one or more of the following:• Perform detailed analysis of the existing software to provide innovative recommendations to improve performance and memory utilization, including software optimizations, SW/HW partitioning.• Develop tools for profiling, validation, and debugging across all SOC components• Help evaluate and guide the team on optimal design of SW and system level features for new chipsets, features, architectures• Influence the evolution of camera APsI and SW architecture in different ecosystems such as Android, Chrome etc.• Participate in the development of varied product lines such as mobile phones, AR, VR, automotive• Scope opportunities for HW accelerationThe ideal candidate will have experience in the following:• Strong understanding of basic computer architecture and CPU Microarchitecture• Excellent in logical programming using C/C++/Assembly/Scripting• In-depth understanding of software stack – Windows/Linux• Benchmarking and Performance Analysis/Optimization of the software stack on ARM CPUs• Real-Time Operating Systems• Version control systems such as Perforce/Git• Performance Analysis Tools such CPU, BW and power profilers• Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high expectations• Passionate for building great products, with a willingness to disrupt the status quo and push boundaries to deliver innovations that affect the experience of millions of end-users• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills • Excellent technical communication and interpersonal skills• Self-motivated and quick learner• Meticulous attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
