Job Overview

 

The Technology and Data Manager is part of the Productions Department and will collaborate with Setting Sun Institute Database Library.   This role will focus on organizing, maintaining, and procuring Production’s technology and managing Productions’ Department media data.

Job Responsibilities (with percentages of time allocated)

Information Technology and Data Management (40%)
Develop data management processes and procedures with the production team.
Develop and implement an organizational system for existing and future CSSP data.
Ensure that all existing CSSP data is organized, safely backed up and archived.
Transfer, backup and archive new CSSP data as it is created and ensure agreed upon processes are being followed and maintained.
Develop and implement security protocols to ensure that data is and will always be safe and secure.
Serve as a DIT on the CSSP productions team when necessary.
Other tasks as assigned.

Equipment management (30%)
Organize and maintain technical and audiovisual equipment, including but not limited to:
Optimizing and maintaining computers and media servers.
Developing and maintaining organizational systems for CSSP’s software and licenses.
Maintaining a detailed inventory of technical and audiovisual equipment.
Ensure that all production equipment is functioning properly, well organized and that the facilities are kept clean and orderly.
Developing and maintaining a checkout system for production gear.
Research and procure new tech and audiovisual equipment as required by the production team.
Prepare production gear for production days.
Resetting gear after production days.
Other tasks as assigned.
Assistant Editor & Production Assistant (30%)
Create and organize video and audio editing projects for CSSP production staff.
Populate existing editing projects with new files.
Create proxies for new clips.
Perform initial editing tasks for CSSP editors, including:
Creating and populating sequences.
Doing a first pass of selects on sequences.
Thematic color coding of clips in sequences.
Other tasks as assigned.
