This Contract Manager position in Qualcomm’s Corporate Procurement group is responsible for managing contracting functions for a variety of indirect procurement categories across the company domestically and internationally. The position requires extensive experience in complex contracts operations across a variety of indirect spend categories. The role further requires: the ability to manage and execute complex business and contractual transactions and to work autonomously but within defined corporate and department policies, processes, and guidelines; the ability to frequently take contractual direction provided by legal and management; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level contract writing and negotiating skills; excellent problem solving skills, as well as expertise in conflict resolution; and commodity and/or industry knowledge. Responsibilities include conferring and aligning with internal stakeholders on business needs and sourcing strategies; establishing effective relationships, partnerships, strategies with stakeholders, vendors, finance, legal and other cross-functional teams; developing and executing contract negotiation strategies; understanding financial impact to all negotiations; reviewing and evaluating the procurement request to determine that the correct contract path is followed. This includes reviewing the contract management system to determine if a contract exists (active or inactive) with the vendor and the terms of any such agreement; drafting, reviewing, negotiating, structuring and managing contracts; working directly with the internal stakeholder, the vendor and, in some cases, vendors counsel to ensure that the contract meets the business and legal needs; negotiating contract terms in accordance with Qualcomm’s legal guidelines and negotiation playbook; persuasively explaining Qualcomm’s positions to produce the best outcome and working closely with Qualcomm legal teams. The Contracts Manager must also understand when and how to escalate key legal and business issues to the appropriate in-house subject matter experts (e.g. Privacy, Tax, IT, Corp or Divisional Legal, Export Compliance etc.) to finalize contractual terms. This task includes taking the subject matter expert’s feedback and drafting appropriate redlines; analyzing and interpreting contract terms to advise internal stakeholders of contractual risks or issues, rights and obligations; mentoring and training junior procurement specialists regarding S2P practices, policies and form including creating issues-checklists and training material. All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• Manage full contract lifecycle from inception of the agreement through contract closure; • Prepare and review contracts, including master agreements, statements of work, renewals, amendments, and other similar agreements;• Negotiate legal terms with suppliers;• Secure necessary approvals from internal stakeholders and subject matter experts;• Update Contract Management System and maintain centralized file storage system;• Assist with special projects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors – Business, Bachelors – Communication, Bachelors – Political Science

6+ years contract administration experience.

2+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports). ,2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above) ,8+ years contract administration experience.
