GENERAL SUMMARY

Job OverviewQualcomm’s Wireless Research Group is responsible for research and development of state-of-the-art algorithms, architectures, and designs for high performance, efficient, and highly scalable wireless communication systems. The digital verification and validation teams work closely with hardware and software architects and designers to enable simulation and testing of the digital portions of these systems. Verification/validation engineers will be responsible for development of verification and test plans, development of the verification and validation flows and environments, functional coverage closure, automation to migrate and run simulations in the test environment, and executing and debugging these tests. They are expected to assist with development of an efficient verification and test flow. They will work directly with various project teams to accomplish the above tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

+ 1-3 years of experience in design verification, validation, or automation.

+ Master of Computer Science/Electrical Engineering

+ Working knowledge of design verification methodologies (e.g. UVM)

+ Experience with OOP languages such as Python, Java, and C++

+ Experience with scripting languages such as shell scripts, Perl, TCL.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent teamwork skills, and be able to effectively work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.

+ Familiarity with emulation environments for development and debug

+ Ability to debugging low level software and hardware issues

+ Familiarity with principles of digital communication, knowledge of modem technologies, and 4G/5G cellular technologies is a plus.

+ Familiarity with SystemVerilog.

+ Experience with hardware/post-silicon bring-up

+ Experience with version control tools such as GIT

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person (San Diego) and remotely.

Work Experiences:

2+ years Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

2+ years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems. ,1+ years of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience.
