GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides technical expertise of software systems through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. Ensures that the application/solution is functioning according to specifications. May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Assists customers with any questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Applications Engineering team in QCT (Qualcomm CDMA Technologies) division is looking for a talented software engineer to drive our existing and future compute chipset technology to success. The successful candidate will be immersed in a highly interactive and dynamic environment, interacting with cross-functional teams internally and outside of QCT. Candidate would develop, analyze and debug embedded SW, debug scripts and tools, triage system-level issues, and propose solutions for customer issues on cutting-edge Windows on Snapdragon chipsets.

Responsibilities:

+ Assist customers with design reviews, develop customer facing documents and provide training to customer

+ Debug customer reported issues and help them optimize their solutions

+ Participate in bring-up activities during customer board bring-up

+ Interact closely with cross-functional software teams within QCT to verify and debug software stability issues reported by customers

+ Collaborate with others engineering teams to ensure the customer devices meets the power and performance KPIs and compliance testing for a successful commercial launch

+ Provide feedback to various teams within the organization to improve the processes for future

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 1+ years experience with debugging techniques

+ Proficient in C, C++, data structures, familiarity with assembly

+ Good understanding of computer architecture

+ Good understanding of embedded programming concepts & RTOS concepts

+ Candidate should be able to understand complex software architecture

+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, self-starter

+ Ability to multi-task

+ Hands on experience on Qualcomm SOCs and tools

+ Familiarity with Windows driver architecture and operating system

Physical Requirements

+ Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

+ Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

+ Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
