GENERAL SUMMARY

Develop suite of core and peripheral drivers for Qualcomm Automotive Development Platforms to be used for bring up and manufacturing tests. Participate in HW and chip design reviews to gather software bring up requirements and provide estimate scope of work and schedule based on early chipset plans. Develop low level code in C/C++ to exercise various functions of Qualcomm and third-party chipsets used on the boards. Bring-up of HW platforms, debugging various HW and SW issues discovered during the bring-up or use of the platform by various customer teams.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Gather, integrate, and interpret information from a variety of sources in order to develop code

+ Unit tests own code to ensure code is reliable and provides complete system validated

+ Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small projects

+ Contribute to creation/presentation of shared documentation for test requirements, code development status, and bring up status

+ Take ownership as a technical leader within an area of focus and become a SME within the team for that technology focus

+ Act as a liaison between the hardware designers and software teams who eventually use the platforms to develop various HLOS, algorithms and automotive use cases

+ Work with contract manufacturers and/or external customers to replicate or leverage the tests used for in-house platforms

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

+ 5+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.

+ 2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ 8+ years Software Development or related work experience

+ 5+ years of related experience in large SoC HW platform bring-up and validation

+ ARM System-On-Chip validation experience related to board bring up and debug

+ Experience in a lab environment and using standard test equipment like multi-meters and oscilloscopes for test/debug

+ Embedded software development of low level hardware drivers in C and/or assembly language

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

+ ARM Processors & Debug: V7/V8 architectures: Cortex-M3, Cortex-A7, Cortex-A53/A57/A78, Cortex-R52

+ Lauterbach debugger/Trace32 environment

+ Test equipment: Logic analyzer, Oscilloscope and Protocol analyzers

+ High speed Memories: DDR3/DDR4/DDR5

+ High Speed peripherals: USB 2.0/3.0, PCIe, RGMII/SGMII, SATA

+ Low Speed peripherals: SPI, UART, I2C

+ Multimedia: HDMI, MIPI DSI/CSI, I2S/TDM, SlimBus

+ Debug experience based on ETM, ETB, STM, STB

+ System level performance & Power Optimization and measurements
