The automotive market is experiencing increasing demand for more accurate and reliable global positioning in support of applications ranging from emergency services, navigation, V2X, and various levels of Autonomous Driving. This role provides an opportunity to leverage the capabilities becoming available through the deployment of an increasing number of satellites and signals, adoption of precise positioning previously reserved for professional applications, more capable sensors, and the strong R&D capabilities of Qualcomm to bring unique and compelling positioning solutions to the automotive markets.
The successful candidate will direct a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution as the product(s) and/or product line(s) move through their lifecycle. Formulates and executes long-term roadmaps for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line.
The responsibilities of this role include:
+ Working independently with little supervision.
+ Making decisions that are significant in impact; maintain rapid progress and removes roadblocks.
+ Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Requires strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
+ Ability to work with distributed Engineering, Program & Product Management teams to support required GNSS & Positioning features across different platforms.
+ Exercising substantial creativity to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives.
+ Participate in operational and strategic planning activities within own area of responsibility.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product and life-cycle management of standalone and integrated GNSS HW, SW, and associated Services products
+ Conducts complex analyses to assess marketability of Qualcomm Automotive GNSS and Positioning products based on market, customer, technology, and other ecosystem demands across Telematics, Infotainment, ADAS, and V2X platforms Identify gaps and drive the product roadmap to ensure maximum financial and strategic impact.
+ Creates a business case for the development of a new product or product features in target product areas (i.e., time to market, cost, market share).
+ Markets new and complex products and technologies through technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact and drives product launch efforts.
+ Prepares and delivers highly complex technical presentations for new and existing products that explain and demonstrate products managed to customers.
+ Define and drive the execution of required evaluation systems with associated internal and external dependencies to promote and support the evaluation of Qualcomm Automotive positioning solutions.
+ Maintains expertise by staying up to date on competitors, technological advances, and the product ecosystem and takes the lead on development and design innovation of products in an established area to articulate differentiation of products to customers and identify trends.
+ Communicates regularly within own team and cross-functional team(s) to ensure team-level understanding of product plans for a product line.
+ Ensures successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that agreed upon KPIs and specifications are met for product(s), upon delivery by engineering team.
+ Collaborates with key stakeholders and program sponsors to develop product goals (e.g., performance, cost, timeline, customer schedules), discuss product feasibility, and facilitate cross-functional decision making for products they own.

This also includes the ability to get things done with fewer resources and in less time, work on multiple tasks at once without losing track, and foresee and plan around obstacles.
+ Product Management – The ability to direct a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. This includes the ability to function as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution as the product(s) and/or product line(s) move through their lifecycle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
+ 4+ years Product Management or related work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
+ 5+ years of GNSS Engineering or Product Management experience
+ 5+ years experience from the automotive markets and related quality and reliability requirements
+ 7+ years Product Management or related work experience.
+ 2+ years working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
+ 2+ years negotiating 3rd party business agreements.
+ 2+ years working in a large matrixed organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.
+ Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
+ Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
