GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm’s Chip Architecture multi-site team of hardware, software architects and systems engineers are driving analysis and defining next-generation architectures for our system-on-chip (SoC) products for the smartphone, tablet, connected camera, wearable, IoT, Automotive, Data-Center, Edge, client compute and other product categories. We have exciting & dynamic technical positions available in the following areas of expertise: Digital SoC systems, Control Plane Architecture, Debug, Performance, Power and Thermal ManagementDescription:A successful candidate will engage collaboratively across the company with core Hardware design & verification, Software, Marketing and product planning teams to architect market-leading SoC products with best-in-class performance and power. The candidate will drive efforts to develop and prototype new system solutions and approaches. These new and enhanced products span data-center, virtual reality, machine learning, automotive, and IoT use cases. + Reset, Clocking and Boot Architecture

+ Resource and Power Control

+ Power and performance optimization, simulation and modeling

+ ARM Coresight Architecture Experience/Knowledge

+ Experience in developing architectures to support system level debug.

+ Silicon debug Experience

+ Knowledge of System and Circuit Reliability features

+ Digital Hardware Design

+ Verification/Test

+ Linux/Android/OS Exposure

+ SystemC/C++/Perl/Python/Other languages

+ Machine Learning

+ Embedded Systems

Possible Assignments Depending on Area of Expertise :

+ Architect market-leading smartphone, tablet, connected camera, wearable, IoT, Automotive and other SoC products with best-in-class performance and power

+ Architect System on Chip Power Management and Resource control

+ Architect Chip Clocking, Reset and Boot controllers

+ Architect trace and design time debug features

+ Conduct hands-on workload analysis including performance and/or power characterizations to help define our SoC architecture plans;

+ Collaborate with HW and SW teams to define best-in-class circuit and memory technologies;

+ Deploy simulators, profilers, or even real hardware to provide quantitative justification for architectural directions;

+ Effectively communicate experimental results, review with technical leads and peers, analyze outstanding issues;

+ Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems;

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

+ 7+ years of Systems engineering or related work experience.

+ 2+ years of experience in one or more system architecture technology areas and products (e.g., Power System, Shared Resource Management, Limits/Thermal Management, Hardware Islands).

Preferred Skills and Experience Qualifications

+ BS Degree required, MS or PhD degree in related field highly desired

+ Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate on projects with multiple teams and disciplines

+ Ability to develop and improve methodologies for experiments and analysis in the specific area of expertise

+ Experience or Education involving hardware, micro-architecture and software

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors – Computer Science, Bachelors – Electrical Engineering

Work Experiences:

2+ years of experience in one or more system architecture technology areas and products (e.g., Power System, Shared Resource Management, Limits/Thermal Management, Hardware Islands)., 7+ years of Systems engineering or related work experience.

6+ years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems. ,1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports). ,2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above)
