GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm’s software compute architecture group develops long-term software roadmaps (for a horizon of 3 to 5 years) for a variety of Snapdragon chipsets used in Mobile cell phones, IOT devices, Laptops, etc. The group is responsible for defining architecture specifications, developing prototypes, making key software eco-system decisions during the life cycle of the products. The group is also responsible for enabling the commercialization of new innovative products with a mandate to achieve best-in-class solutions. The team is currently looking for entry and Sr level engineers who can specifically contribute to the story of our Snapdragon Kryo CPUs to be integrated in the next generation solutions. The job would provide insight into the technological advances being made by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and a firsthand opportunity to participate in products used and recognized worldwide. The job gives a unique exposure on multiple technology domains that are central in today’s high-pace and super competitive system-on-chip development. The team is looking for a motivated candidate that wants to influence our products roadmap. The candidate would be able to contribute to one of the many technical jobs at the intersection between design development and architecture, such as developing new focused SW prototypes for emerging CPU designs, contribute to different SW stacks, invent test and validation methodology, etc. The candidate will be exposed to a full product development cycle that includes product marketing definition, system architecture, HW design trade-offs, and software product commercialization, which is unusual for a junior-level engineer in large organizations. The candidate will, furthermore, be given reasonable autonomy to explore technical areas s/he wants to specialize in, if s/he has such desire.Ideal candidates for this position will demonstrate the following:- Solid knowledge on CPU architecture (familiarity with ARM and RISC-V archicture is a plus)- Solid knowledge on System SW- Strong C/C++, Perl/Python programming language experience- Knowledge or interest in Android and Windows is a plus – Firsthand experience with Linux and Linux kernel is a plus – Knowledge of any assembly language programming is an added advantage- Good debugging, analytical and critical thinking skills – Motivated to tinker with real hardware and experimental platforms – Effective communication skills and ability and desire to work as a collaborator in a friendly supportive group. The candidate will be exposed to vastly different areas in the organization and will interact with multiple geographical regions in the world.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors – Computer Science, Bachelors – Engineering, Bachelors – Information Systems

Work Experiences:

2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience

Work Experiences:

1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above). ,3+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,3+ years experience with API. ,3+ years experience with Database Management Software. ,8+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.
