General Summary

Job Overview Qualcomm’s Gaming group is seeking an experienced engineer to work directly with PC game developers around the world driving game optimizations to create best-in-class experiences for the Snapdragon chipset. The team is seeking an engineer to identify, track and port the most crucial PC game middleware, engine software and tools to our Windows devices running on Arm64 Snapdragon silicon. This is a unique opportunity for a highly organized individual with a passion for PC games, game stores and other gaming technology. At the heart of the Qualcomm Gaming group, we are passionate about next generation gaming technologies and delivering exceptional gaming experiences. Our highly creative teams are full of veteran game developers, artists, game engine experts and graphics enthusiast who work on our latest GPU and gaming hardware innovations around mobile, PC, and XR.

Preferred Qualifications

+ 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience

+ Highly proficient in working with Windows

+ Familiarity with PC Gaming and Game Stores

+ Highly organized, able to track and record progress

+ Comfortable with technical instructions and procedures

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Experience with configuring and collecting crash dumps on Windows

+ Knowledge of Windows components and gaming software

+ Familiarity with Windows debuggers like windbg

+ Strong low-level to platform level coding skills including knowledge and familiarity with SIMD and Arm64

+ Familiarity with Windows Registry Keys and settings

+ Comfortable building and porting large codebases

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

​Physical Requirements

+ Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

+ Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

+ Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
