GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm’s Chipset Architecture and Systems team drives the analysis and recommendations for chipset partitioning, power distribution network, clock distribution network, and interfaces for our industry-leading chipsets. The team drives component, cost, power and performance targets and collaborates with chip architecture teams towards the goal of best in class products for our customers. We have exciting & dynamic technical leadership positions available in modem chipset areas for handset, modem modules and radio access network products. These are engineering leadership roles in a cross-functional matrixed environment.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze Smartphone/compute/auto/IOT requirements, mapping of requirements to chipsets, discrete components and development of architectural specifications.Develop Chipset/Discrete-component partition with emphasis on overall product cost, power, performance, flexibility, scalability and reusability.Define chipset interface electrical and logical specifications ensuring consistency and plug & play functionality within product families. Analyze discrete components, cost, power and performance. Set targets for and drive bill of materials and cost reduction, and best in class power and user experience. Lead complex analyses, reviews analyses completed by others to identify where an issue has occurred, make recommendations for how to address issues, and identify patterns and implications for work.Work with high-level representatives from other functions (e.g., chip architecture, product management, modem technologies, semiconductor execution, software) to develop and execute system design and architecture of a large initiative. Leverage expertise to develop ingenious, innovative, and original solutions for new or unique problems. Develop new and innovative ideas (e.g. IDFs) for product or feature, reviews IDFs, and drive innovation for the organization.Help formulate Qualcomm processes, techniques, and procedures that are utilized by others in applying related technologies.Network with colleagues across the organization as well as with external partners to gain insight, ideas, and connections.Present end-to-end solutions within and outside of project team. Discuss system solution, approach, or other information with customers and others outside of Qualcomm. Drive technical conversation.Set the strategic direction for the discipline and communicate that strategy up, down, and across the organization.Develop, coaches, and mentor experienced and junior members of the team and provides development assignments. Apply and teach others on industry best practices and technical standards.Provides expertise for the development of highly complex system level design including requirements allocation, interface definition, behavior and performance definition for major system components. Review and presents the system requirements and design to stakeholders across the organization.Drive teams across the company to achieve top-quality results. Review assigned projects, determine the level of analyses and associated work that needs to be conducted in order to address these project deadlines, and assign projects throughout the team accordingly. Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.8+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.Preferred QualificationsProven engineering leadership with a cross-functional team resulting in successful delivery of chipsets and/or devices utilizing the chipsets.Expert knowledge and experience in chipset partitioning. power distribution network, clock distribution network, and interfaces for modem chipsets used in handsets, modem modules and/or radio access network products. Responsibilities

+ Analyze Smartphone/compute/auto/IOT requirements, mapping of requirements to chipsets, discrete components and development of architectural specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

+ 8+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.

+ Proven engineering leadership with a cross-functional team resulting in successful delivery of chipsets and/or devices utilizing the chipsets.

+ Expert knowledge and experience in chipset partitioning. power distribution network, clock distribution network, and interfaces for modem chipsets used in handsets, modem modules and/or radio access network products.

+ Knowledgeable in wireless technologies, semiconductors, packaging, board level design or development.

4+ years experience with Testing Software such as Bugzilla, LoadRunner, etc. ,4+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,4+ years experience with Development Environment Software such as Apache Maven, Ruby, etc. ,4+ years experience with Database Management Software. ,3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above). ,15+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.
