GENERAL SUMMARY

Overview Qualcomm CDMA Technologies is the largest developer of 3G and 4G communication technology in the world. Our ASIC modem design teams deliver cutting edge hardware and software products across every established wireless standard and protocol.Individuals in this role are responsible for developing our next generation cellular modems in the following technologies: GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, WiFi and 5G.As a Modem Hardware Modeling Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, implementing and unit-testing of various tiers of Hardware models for the Wireless Modem Hardware Data-Paths and Control Plane using advanced modeling techniques. You will develop Models that include behavioral, architectural, performance and cycle-accurate models. You will design the Models in terms of what is modeled vs. whats not modeled, create detailed Model design specifications for partitioning between blocks, sub-blocks and interfaces. You will work with cross-functional teams including Hardware RTL Design team, Hardware DV team, Systems Technology team and Firmware team to define Model APIs to allow them to be integrated into various Platforms where the Models serve as HW DV golden reference, System Performance Validation reference and FW Virtual Prototyping platform.

The Ideal candidate will have the following skills: – Experience with debugging Verilog/System Verilog RTL.- Experience with HW Modeling in C++ and SystemC.- Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming in C++.- Proficiency in Algorithms and Data Structures.- Experience with scripting and automation using Python/PERL- Experience with Unix/Linux shell programming and Makefile.- Solid debugging and problem solving skills.- Good communication skills and an ability/desire to work as a team player.- DV experience using UVM.- Experience with C++ Standard libraries including STL and Boost.- Experience with SystemC TLM2.0 based modeling.- Experience with SystemC based Bus Performance Modeling.- Knowledge of Discrete-time Signal Processing and Digital Communications.- Knowledge of Wireless Modem air interface standards such as LTE.- Experience in Modem or high-speed DSP datapaths such as digital filters, FFTs, error-correction codes, etc.- Knowledge of Matlab or Python Pandas/Numpy/Scipy.- Experience with Software Design Best Practices and Design Patterns.

Education:

Bachelors – Computer Engineering, Bachelors – Computer Science, Bachelors – Electrical Engineering

Work Experiences:

5+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports). ,5+ years experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems. ,6 months of WWAN modem development specific experience. ,1+ years of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience.
